About:
An intense and claustrophobic family drama about longing and regret. Debt and illness. A story that burns magically and insisting. A film about how difficult it sometimes feels to be part of a family and how difficult it can be to be a parent and a son.
the movie follows Bodil, a lonely elderly woman obsessed with her health, who longs for a connection with her estranged son, Poul. When Poul suddenly returns, she fabricates a terminal illness to keep him close, leading to a temporary reconciliation. However, Poul’s ulterior motive—to access her money—emerges, and their relationship unravels again. As reality and illusion blur, a mysterious cat with wings appears. The film explores themes of family, deception, and the search for meaning in later life.
